That book is older than I am!

When I was young, my father would always ask me, before bed, “What was your favorite thing about the day?” It’s a good question.
Perhaps if there are some of you out there who are registered, you can answer that question in comments!
NOTE This should have published at 10:00pm. That was the plan. If cron agreed, it will have been.

Quite a few highlights for my May 1 to choose from.
My billables for April were higher than expected.
I finally vented my stone basement by installing a vent through the door.
My male neutered ginger cat has a rapey problem, his name is Tormund. I discovered on the Internet that someone else owns a neutered male cat with a rapey problem who’s also called Tormund.
Lambert is back! Just the other day I was reading something and had a brief sad that it was not written by Lambert.
And finally I had another go at making my definitive list of why the world is broken:
- We have gone from a Just In Case society to a Just In Time society (thanks recent Aurelian for that)
- The West has become anti-humanity (Covid, Gaza, clearly illegal war on Iran, Ukraine, healthcare, ICE, and things.)
- Critical lack of accountability. We have all the laws we could ever need; senate and parliamentary committees continuously churn to expose the problems and problem people; but nothing happens, ever, to anyone.
- Maybe as an honorary mention for the list: It’s Epstein, all the way up.
So my favorite thing about my day? May 1, 2026 would be Lambert is back!
> It’s Epstein, all the way up.
Yes, IMNSHO is best to think of the ruling class is utterly depraved. And there are not very many of them (1% of the population of the United States is 3,420,000, a little smaller than Los Angeles). They are all at most three degrees of separation from Epstein, and Epstein was an extraordinary networker, so his connections were disproportionately numerous and powerful. They either knew, or chose not to know (consider the people who continued to consult with him after his conviction).
